The ideal plant for sport horses? What if it were seaweed?

Today, I'd like to take a look at one more plant.

Hint: it's green, it smells of the sea and it contains 8 amino acids.

Still haven't found it?

Spirulina is a very ancient freshwater algae, believed to have been present at the origin of life on earth. Named for its spiral shape, it belongs to the cyanobacteria family.
It is composed of:

  • 65% high-quality protein (thanks to its high amino acid content), this micro-algae actually contains the 8 amino acids required by all organisms.
  • 7% minerals and trace elements: Minerals (macro-elements present in significant quantities) and trace elements (present in minute quantities) are essential for vital mechanisms such as enzymatic processes, oxidation reactions, energy transfer and metabolism.
    1. Calcium: forms the framework of bones, mixed with phosphorus
    2. Chromium: regulates blood insulin levels and lowers cholesterol
    3. Copper: hemoglobin synthesis, collagen synthesis, keratin (role in horn and hair formation), nerve tissue protection.
    4. Iron: fundamental element in oxygen transport by blood hemoglobin. It plays a role in fundamental redox mechanisms.
    5. Magnesium: essential for the proper functioning of the nervous and muscular systems. Magnesium is present in grass, but spring grass is deficient in magnesium. The literature tells us to avoid supplementing with magnesium chloride, as it can be toxic to the kidneys. A marine magnesium source of plant origin is preferable.
    6. Manganese: involved in liver and bone metabolism, cartilage synthesis and calcium absorption
    7. Phosphorus: necessary for growth. Stores and produces the energy the body needs
    8. Sodium: maintains the body's water balance
    9. Zinc: plays a role in immunity, horn and hair synthesis
  • 15% carbohydrates
  • 6% lipids (omega 6)
  • 2% fiber
  • 5% water
  • It is also very rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B7, B8, B12, D, E and K (a sunken submarine and 2 shots in the water...).

Spirulina's rich composition stimulates the immune system, detoxifies the body of heavy metals, promotes oxygenation of blood, cells and muscles, corrects deficiencies and stimulates nutrient exchange, and helps prevent or treat iron deficiency.
Its high protein content helps maintain and build muscle mass. It reduces muscular pain and improves endurance.
It promotes faster convalescence.
In short, your horse is in better general condition.
Spirulina is a jewel in the crown of horse health!
